Voting is a big topic this year, but here’s one vote you don’t have to wait until November to cast—vote now for your favorite AFT Everyday Hero for 2012!

One of our own (BCFPE, AFT-Maryland, AFL-CIO and a Baltimore County Government Employee/Volunteer) HAS MADE IT TO THE SEMI-FINALISTS ROUND!

VOTE FOR MICHAEL MORRIS – 2012 AFT PUBLIC EMPLOYEE DIVISION EVERYDAY HERO

YOUR VOTE COUNTS!!!

Semifinalists from each AFT division have been chosen, representing teachers, PSRPs, higher education staff and faculty, healthcare professionals, public employees and retirees.

Read about fellow members who epitomize the spirit of public service, camaraderie and compassion, and inspire us all to make a difference in our chosen fields and in our communities. Then, vote for one Everyday Hero from each constituency group. Voting is open through April 29.

The semifinalist who gets the most votes in each division will be named his or her division’s 2012 Everyday Hero and will be honored at this year’s AFT convention.

The online voting for the semifinalists went live on April 2, 2012 at www.aft.org/everydayheroes/ and will continue through April 29th. Anyone can vote for a semifinalist – you do not have to be an AFT member to vote – and you can vote for a semifinalist in one or more divisions.
