The Baltimore County Federation of Public Employees, Local #4883 held their 2015 Open House on Tuesday, January 13th at their offices in Towson, MD. BCFPE members and allies gathered throughout the day to share food and fellowship with their fellow union brothers and sisters. AFT-Maryland president, Marietta English, along with other AFT-Maryland staff, stopped by with their best wishes for a successful 2015 for the local. Read more about the event at BCFPE.md.aft.org.

Leaders and staff from AFT-Maryland locals attended the 24th Annual Leadership Conference of the Metropolitan Baltimore Council AFL-CIO.

The conference was held January 7-9, 2015 in Atlantic City, NJ. AFT-Maryland was represented by activists from the Baltimore Teachers Union (#340), BCFPE (#4883), City Union of Baltimore Aft (#800), AFT Healthcare-Maryland (#5197), Maryland Classified Employees Association, Inc. (#1935), and AFT-Maryland (#8018).

Members of our locals celebrate the holidays in many ways. On Friday, December 5th, members of the City Union of Baltimore gathered for their annual holiday party and program at the IBEW Local 24 Union Hall in Baltimore.

On Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014, AFT-Maryland joined with tens of thousands of concerned citizens from across the nation to demand JUSTICE FOR ALL. The march led by the National Action Network and the National Urban League called attention to the recent deaths of unarmed African-American men and women at the hands of law enforcement. The rally pressed local, state, and federal officials to seek justice for the victims.
