Welcome, Spring!

The turn of the pages on the calendar to April brings excitement at the anticipation of spring. The season is one that holds a great deal of potential and promise. Many of us will resume some of our favorite outdoor activities; others will try new outdoor ideas for the first time. We know the adage that “April showers, bring May flowers,” and we are eager for the longer, warmer days, even if we have to put up with some rainy ones here and there.

This year, the month of April also brings Spring Break for Maryland students. For education professionals, this is a time to take a break and catch your breath. A chance to rest and recuperate as we head into the final stretch of the school year. This has been a challenging and unique school year in so many ways as we try to adapt to our new normal and spring break is a chance to gather ourselves before the last leg of the school year.

In addition to the longer and warmer days that come with spring, we also recognize April as a month filled with a number of religious holidays that many of our members may be observing. If you’re celebrating a holiday such as Ramadan, Easter, or Passover, your state federation is thinking about you during this time. We hope the holiday is fulfilling and reconnects you with that which centers your moral compass.

Thank you to all the members of our state federation and happy spring!

Kenya Campbell, President
