Baltimore, MD—BTU President Marietta English offered these remarks on BTU members being laid off:
The Baltimore Teachers Union is very concerned about our PSRP members who received lay-off notices today. We are doing all we can to ensure those affected will ultimately be rehired.
We are encouraged to hear that BCPSS wants to retrain these hard working professionals and ultimately re-employ them. We are doing everything we can to help the school system to do just that and ensure sustained employment for all of our members.
