The Maryland/District of Columbia AFL-CIO will launch its electoral “Labor Kick-off and Canvas” events for endorsed candidates April 26, 2014. Events include a rally from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m., Labor to Labor Walks from 9:45 until 12:1500 p.m., and a luncheon meeting from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m.

The Kick-Off and Canvass activities are intended to rally Maryland voters to register and participate in the 2014 elections. Activities will launch from the Baltimore Teachers Union (BTU), 5800 Metro Drive, in Baltimore and from the UFCW Local 400, 4301 Garden City Drive in Landover, Maryland.

April 7th -13th is National Public Health Week and AFT Healthcare-Maryland President Debra Perry is sending a “Thank You” note to all public health employees in Bargaining Unit E, acknowledging the great work they do for the citizens of Maryland.
