Trailblazers in the Women's Labor Movement

Baltimore Teachers Union’s Women’s Rights Committee is planning its third annual Women in the Labor Movement Luncheon.  Our theme is “Trailblazers in the Women’s Labor Movement.”

The luncheon will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 from 12:00-3:00p.m., and the cost is $40.00. The event will be held at Forum Caterers on Primrose Ave (see below for address).

March is Women in History month.  This is the time designated to honor and/or recognize the numerous contributions of women everywhere.  Historically women have demonstrated their unwavering commitment and dedication to an abundance of causes, working tirelessly in front of and behind the scenes making vast contributions to our society.

Within the labor movement there are countless examples of women who have made significant contributions as well.  Therefore, in the spirit of solidarity, the BTU’s Civil Human and Women’s Rights Committee would like to celebrate women from the Metropolitan Baltimore Council AFL-CIO Unions who have made significant contributions to their unions and have worked untiringly to improve the lives of working men and women.  We are certain there are women working in your individual locals who embody the spirit of unionism and should be recognized.  In keeping with the month long celebration, the Baltimore Teachers Union’s Women’s Rights Committee is planning its third annual Women in the Labor Movement LuncheonOur theme is “Trailblazers in the Women’s Labor Movement.”

The catered luncheon will be held at the Forum Caterers, 4210 Primrose Ave, Baltimore, MD 21215, Saturday, March 19, 2016 from 12:00 – 3:00 pm.  The cost is $40.00 per person.  We are asking that you support your honoree by purchasing a table to represent your local and in support of your honoree.

Finally, this is an opportunity for us to celebrate, fellowship, and further strengthen the ties that bind us all together.

Thank you for your support!
