AFT-MD attends Metro Baltimore AFL-CIO Leadership Conference

Leaders and staff from AFT-Maryland locals attended the 24th Annual Leadership Conference of the Metropolitan Baltimore Council AFL-CIO.

The conference was held January 7-9, 2015 in Atlantic City, NJ. AFT-Maryland was represented by activists from the Baltimore Teachers Union (#340), BCFPE (#4883), City Union of Baltimore Aft (#800), AFT Healthcare-Maryland (#5197), Maryland Classified Employees Association, Inc. (#1935), and AFT-Maryland (#8018).

Among other programs and speeches, participants attended workshops on workers' compensation hearings, best practices in fair representation, the Union's role in addressing discrimination in the workplace, social media in the workplace, the Federal Employers' Compensation Act, a survey of recent and pending labor decisions, employee medical information and privacy, and more.
