Member Meet-and-Greet Events Continue

Members continue to hear from Maryland gubernatorial candidates during AFT-Maryland’s candidate meet-and-greet events. These virtual conversations provide members the opportunity to hear from candidates for Governor about their vision for the state in 2022 and beyond. Last week, public employees heard from Comptroller Peter Franchot and former U.S. Secretary of Education John King.

Each of the candidates laid out their vision for how to move Maryland forward and shared with members how they intend to partner with AFT-Maryland affiliated unions to do so. Members were engaging and interactive both during the virtual format and later on Twitter. The conversation from the meet-and-greet carried over to the social media platform where members exchanged ideas around the best ways to organize colleagues and share thoughts on the candidates. The campaigns shared their thankfulness for the chance to address members and are looking forward to being with our educational professionals.

AFT-Maryland will hold our final three candidate meet-and-greet events next week. Advanced registration is required to attend. If attending more than one event, you must register for each one.
