State employees such as healthcare workers in Bargaining Unit E and engineers, scientists, and other professionals in Bargaining Unit G will find a 2% raise in their pay checks beginning January 1, 2013.
The COLA, or general cost of living adjustment wage increase, was negotiated by the Union during the last collective bargaining negotiations for the Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) that went into effect on July 1, 2011. This negotiated benefit will add more than $1,000.00 to the average salary of a Unit E or Unit G employee. Also negotiated at that time was the $750.00 bonus paid last year, a 3% COLA scheduled for next year, and a return of step increases effective April 1, 2014.
