AFT Maryland President Kenya Campbell launched the 2026-2027 school year with a Back-to-School Tour, visiting several Baltimore City Public Schools to welcome staff, students, and families back to the classroom.
Her stops included Fallstaff Elementary/Middle School, Harlem Park Elementary/Middle School, and Margaret Brent Elementary School, among others. At each school, President Campbell greeted union members and school staff, thanking them for the work they do to prepare for a new year and to support every child who walks through the door.
It's a message captured on one school's banner: "Amazing Things Happen Here!" Thanks to the dedication of Baltimore's educators and school staff, that rings true every day.
AFT Maryland wishes all students, families, educators, and school staff a safe, joyful, and successful school year.
