After a winter that demanded resilience and collective effort, we welcome spring! Throughout the colder months and now into this new season, our members have been organizing for change for education, healthcare, public service and all workers here in Maryland.
This winter, we faced large amounts of adversity, with the wave of attacks on public education, civil servants, and vital healthcare by the new administration that is leaving many feeling uncertain and wary. Despite this, our union continues to grow stronger, thanks in no small part to the dedication of members across the state.
In this past legislative session, members came together to advocate for workers’ rights and to protect funding for Maryland’s public schools. As the seasons change, we remain committed to building on the wins and progress we've made in support of these goals and continuing the fight for the schools and workplaces our communities deserve.
As spring blooms, holidays like Passover, Ramadan, and Easter invite many of us to pause, reflect, and reconnect with what grounds us. In whichever way you observe this season, I hope it brings a sense of renewal and purpose. While our fight is the same as yesterday, we welcome the longer days and the thawing weather that will re-energize us all while we remain steadfast in our pursuits.
Thank you for all that you do for your coworkers, your students, your patients, your communities, and our union.
Happy Spring!
